Stores, outlets, online retailers and webshop customers: The sales channels of bugatti Retail GmbH are versatile and logistically demanding. To meet the growing demands of eCommerce, the company decided in 2017 to expand the existing hanging goods warehouse in Goslar into a multifunctional central warehouse.
In addition to the Bugatti full range, the expanded central warehouse was also to handle logistics for four other brands in the group: Wilvorst, Corpus Line, Atelier Torino and Tziacco. Varying delivery volumes, from single items to fully loaded trucks with new goods, had to be handled, including highly varying planning horizons.
In addition, it was important to quickly process returns from eCommerce customers, prepare the goods and relabel them – depending on the batch size, within one day until goods issue. The demands on organization, overview and rapid processing of orders were correspondingly high.
UTILIZATION OF THE EXISTING
BUILDING STRUCTURE
Als zentrale Herausforderung erwies sich das bestehende Transport- und Lagersystem. Es war zu unflexibel für den Umbau und hätte einen kostspieligen Neubau erfordert. Auf der Suche nach einer Lösung sprach bugatti den Systemlieferanten SCHÖNENBERGER an. Dieser befand die vorhandene Gebäudestruktur als gut und ausreichend, um darin die gewünschte Neuorganisation der Abläufe mit seinem Omniflo System vollständig zu realisieren – und dafür sogar die vorhandene Gerüststruktur zu nutzen. Bruno Weis, Logistikleiter am Standort Goslar: „Der Vorschlag von SCHÖNENBERGER war so überzeugend, dass wir unsere Neubaupläne sofort fallen ließen. Denn das modulare System Omniflo ließ sich vollständig in die vorhandene Umgebung einpassen und nach unseren Vorstellungen gestalten.“

INTELLIGENT REORGANIZATION
OF WORKPLACES AND WAREHOUSE
Wie wird aus einem reinen Hängelager mit nur einer Bearbeitungsebene und vier Lagerebenen ein multifunktionales Logistikzentrum? Die SCHÖNENBERGER Lösung lautete: mobile Arbeitsplätze auf allen vier, je fußballfeldgroßen Lagerebenen, kundenneutrale Lagerbestände und ein System, das alle Funktionsbereiche integriert. Für den intelligenten Warenfluss schlug SCHÖNENBERGER einen ausreichend großen Pufferbereich im Wareneingang vor, der das flexible Abarbeiten von Lieferungen nach Dringlichkeit ermöglicht. Dafür wurde der Wareneingang auf die Fläche eines halben Fußballfeldes vergrößert. Und schließlich konzipierte der Systemspezialist als Generalunternehmer ergonomische Arbeitsplätze in Wareneingang und Packbereich.
CONVERSION DURING OPERATION
Im Oktober 2017 startete das SCHÖNENBERGER Montageteam mit
dem Umbau in der obersten Etage. Während auf den darunterliegenden Ebenen der Betrieb normal weiterging, wurde das Stockwerk
geräumt und das neue System montiert. So arbeitete sich das Team
durch die vier Lagerebenen nach unten.
Dann folgte die zweite Etage mit Bügelei, Retourenarbeitsplätzen,
Tunnelfinisher und schließlich die erste Ebene mit den Funktionsbereichen Warenein-/-ausgang, Qualitätskontrolle sowie Packerei.
Die alten Förderer wurden bis zuletzt belassen und in einem finalen,
einwöchigen Kraftakt durch die neuen ersetzt. Im Mai 2018 war der
Umbau abgeschlossen und das multifunktionale Logistikzentrum fertiggestellt. „Die Zusammenarbeit und Kommunikation
haben sehr gut funktioniert,“ erinnert sich Bruno Weis. „Das SCHÖNENBERGER Team war kompetent und setzte Änderungswünsche
während der Montage sofort um.“

EFFICIENT WORK THANKS TO FLEXIBLE
ORGANIZATION AND EASY HANDLING
Since the conversion, employees have been working at mobile workstations on the four warehouse levels of the new logistics center.
The work areas are well lit and generously dimensioned.
Trolley baskets are used on the warehouse routes for flat goods and long trolleys for hanging goods. They are easy to combine, interchangeable and so smooth-running that they can be pulled by
employees without any significant effort
. They are transported between floors fully automatically
using inclined conveyors. Thanks to the integration of the ironer and tunnel finisher, returned
garments can now also be processed quickly and efficiently. The fact that the new system is also
much quieter is a big plus for the employees
